Hampshire
Your Warranty is Safe in our Hands
Has a salesman ever told you that you have to book in for car servicing or repair work with a dealership in Hampshire to protect the warranty on a new car? We can assure you that this isn’t true. You can book in for Land Rover repairs and Range Rover repairs, or for an interim or full service on either of these two marques, elsewhere. Choosing Bentley Auto Centre won’t affect your warranty or impact your service history.
We are independent Land Rover specialists and Range Rover specialists from Alton. EU legislation makes it mandatory for manufacturers to offer a minimum 24-month warranty on new cars. EU Block Exemption makes it possible for you to book in for car servicing and repairs at any garage in Hampshire.
You can have Land Rover repairs and servicing, or Range Rover repairs and servicing, undertaken elsewhere knowing that the manufacturer’s dealership network cannot refuse to honour the warranty. The manufacturer can insist, however, that an independent workshop has worked to the set schedule.
Our Land Rover specialists and Range Rover specialists work to a standard, not a price, so we can perform car servicing and repairs to the required manufacturer specification.
Hampshire
Your Rights and Responsibilities
You can use any workshop in the Hampshire area to service or repair your vehicle, but you must make sure that workshop works to the set schedule. In the case of Land Rover repairs and Range Rover repairs, the service provider must use genuine manufacturer parts and ATF AG60 oils. Wherever possible, have car servicing and repairs undertaken by a company with a Good Garage Scheme or Trust my Garage Scheme membership.
Always keep a copy of invoices and receipts to show the required work meets the manufacturer specification.
When a car needs repairing under its original warranty, the manufacturer can insist that you use dealership Land Rover specialists or Range Rover specialists in Hampshire. This is fair because the manufacturer pays for the work. If you are paying for car servicing or repairs yourself, however, it is you who has the final say on the service provider.
There is one important thing to remember: If a dealership offers you an extended warranty at the point of sale, it is unlikely that the manufacturer supports it. An extended warranty is a form of aftermarket insurance so EU Block Exemption may not apply. The terms of an extended warranty may demand that you book in for Land Rover repairs and servicing, or Range Rover repairs and servicing, with the original dealership or one of their approved repair centres.
Be aware that car servicing and repair work undertaken outside of a dealership network might affect your finance or lease agreement, should you have one. Some agreements demand that you only use approved Land Rover specialists or Range Rover specialists in Hampshire. If you don’t, it could affect the resale value of the car and leave you liable for extra costs.
Check finance agreements first before choosing an independent workshop for your car servicing or repair needs.
